When you think of Hilton you think of luxury. We arrived at the Cincinnati Hilton Netherland Plaza a few hours after check in and we're greeted at the door. Parking is difficult but the Hilton has a public self parking building attached to their hotel. We unloaded our few bags at the door, my wife took the bags inside while I parked the car. So far so good. The Hotel has an entrance from the parking garage to the lobby, this is going to be easy. I make my way to the front desk and grab a key to my room. Our beverages needed to stay cold so off to find the ice machine. The floor map suggested where it was located but no ice machine. I call the front desk, they say that some ice machines had been removed to be repaired. "OK, where does one find ice?" The said to check the floor above and below my floor or I could come down to the main bar. I continued my search on 14, then 16, then 17 finally just giving up and heading back down to the lobby where the bar was. Very inconvenient, and i find it hard to believe that the front desk doesn't know where the working ice machines are in the building. For them to send me on a wild goose chase to multiple floors is completely unprofessional. La

I stayed at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza while attending an IEEE conference, and overall it was a wonderful and memorable experience. The hotel is beautiful and full of character. I especially loved the European-style architecture and the unique painted ceilings, walking through some of the spaces almost feels like visiting a museum or historic building in Europe. The music, atmosphere, and food added to the experience and made the hotel feel very different from a typical modern hotel. The staff were also wonderful. A special thank you to the gentlemen in the lower lobby (LL) who helped with our luggage and kept it safely for us. They were very friendly and helpful. I also really appreciated the catering ladies working in the conference area during our luncheon , they were kind, attentive, and made the event more enjoyable. Some areas of the hotel could definitely benefit from a little more maintenance and renovation, especially considering how beautiful and historic the building is. But honestly, that did not take away from the charm of the place. Overall, I had a great stay. Beautiful architecture, helpful staff, good food, and a very unique atmosphere. It was a l

This hotel is very sad. The details of the architecture are stunning; but, there is a musty smell throughout and quite a few places where the paint is peeling. Through no fault of their own, the businesses in the building are all closed, many with paper over the windows. It makes for a depressing walk through an otherwise awe-inspiring place. The elevators are sometimes very slow and loud and sound travels up many floors from events below. I wish this hotel were better because it’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. But, there are (literal) cracks all over the beauty and it clearly aged. The woman at the front desk we dealt with was not very pleasant. We wouldn’t stay here again. There was one standout…Josh, the doorman was incredible. He was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed talking to him and getting tips on the area.
